With the winter weather upon us and the holiday season around the corner, unfortunately this time a year is when allot of Insurance claims are filed due to fires and flooding from heaters and broken pipes. Jeff is currently working on an insurance claim job that started with a broken water pipe in the roof of a kitchen. The insurance company the home owners have was only going to give them $7,000 with a deductible of $2,000, leaving them with only $5,000 to do the repairs. When Jeff stepped in and discussed repairs with the insurance adjuster he managed to increase this amount to $24,000.
The home owner wanted to upgrade to tile floors, granite counter tops, under cabinet lighting, nicer kitchen cabinets and the list went on. $24,000 was allot better than $7,000 but not enough to cover all the home improvements the owner wanted. So Jeff realized for the home owner to get these upgrades he was going to have to cut his labor costs. To do this he taught the home owner and his son how to demo the kitchen, sheet rock the walls, tape, mud and sand. They also did all the shopping for materials with Jeff writing out the list and having his phone handy for questions while home owner was shopping at Home Depot. They painted and learned how to prep floors for tiling.
When it was all said and done, the home owners are getting everything they’d hoped for and already love their new kitchen which is just days away from being complete. Now here’s a contractor who’s in it for the customer and not just a fast buck. The home owners got everything they wanted and learned so many home improvement skills.
